SpringSummer2025
Extraordinary decoration comes in various forms out humans history, whether its in clothing, flowers or cooking. The dainty handwork of hand knitted lace or glass beads sown in already over the top dresses from the 19th century.
Starting in the upper class the delicate handwork was to expensive for the working class. Yet turning to the 21st century is's now for everyone, no longer a market for ones class or status.
We have these soft and artful forms from a hard nature that does not bring any natural colors forward. Small intricate details are a must have in this trend.
Therefor the take away from this trend isn't color nor is it fabric, it's the fine detail in handcraftsmanship's and making a product with embroidery or free handed quilting.
From the Nordic countries we see a overflow of wildflowers taking over the color market with muted blue - mixed in with a softer purple, pink that looks unnatural in nature and most impressing dark rich purple: some hard and cold and others warm and inviting, that pops against the lush greens from pine trees and leaves on birches and the bark that give them height.
This flowers are not only a magical sight but also act as a dessert for the animals, sheeps, cows and other herbivores. And those animals are dominating the fabric market that leaves us with wonderful fabric as cotton, Tencel, feather and downs.
We will see fabrics and colors with a connection to nature in the coming spring and summer.
Season speaks of a green thumb with focus at things that works in the wild forest, while traveling or in the workplace. Utensils and hard worn items that lives longer due to caring for them. Colors being inspired of the same wildflowers; purple colors reaching between dark to the lightest lavender. Greens that looks both natural and unnatural coming from leaves or unripe fruits, both dim and clear.
Going back to our roots in African, were humans started: leaving our footprints in form of cave painting, crafts and buildings that lives past burning stars. We find ourself in the times of simple, yet extraordinary, artwork past down through generations. With heavy, thick drawings, colorful beadings and accessories that plays on storytelling through what's being worn. A natural, warm palette, inspired by and hand picked from the prosperity and abundace of Africa The light turquoise coming from opalite nests nicely between browns that are gathered from wild nuts. Mixing in a dim, muted, almost boring yellow and somehow this colors, with their hard contrast, work together.
With color blocking, thousands years old art, fibers given to one by nature, strong dominant colors on soft fabric and calm colors all inspired by indigenous communities we will see wonderful art in patterns that doesn't really look like the ones we've seen in our culture before. These patterns and colors will stand out in the wardrobe and on the streets.
